This post is not to convince you of trying different architectural representation styles *wink wink*. There are so many good architects and artists at the same time out there who use their talent to portrait their ideas. We use our research so you guys can see the different options you have to make your architectural projects better with time. If you haven’t seen our post about the other representation styles, you can read it here.

Hand Drawn

This is probably one of the well-know representation style that many of the renowned architects use. Hand-drawn, well the name says it by itself. We think that this is one of the forms that you can express yourself almost instantly. If you carry around a notepad and a pencil, this form of architecture representation will always be an option to let your ideas out.

Oil on canvas

We normally hear about oil paintings like the Mona Lisa by Leonardo Da Vinci or The Kiss by Gustav Klimt, but can we use this technique as an architecture representation style?  Oil paint is made by mixing pigments of colors with an oil medium. Some of the greatest artists start off by first sketching and then using the different pigments to give especially depth to they paintings.
So, if you already sketch? Why not try this technique out?

Mixed Technique

Who said that if we use a render as an architecture representational style we can’t use any other style to go along with it? Well, if you could only try different things out you will see what amazing things can come out of it. We have a cool and quick tutorial where we mix two techniques, sketch and render, watch it here.  As you can see in the image above, the sketch is to show that this is your work, you know it from top to bottom.

Watercolor

The watercolor technique is more than just pretty colors, it’s also a fast way of expressing yourself and your ideas with watercolor. There is nothing prettier than a watercolor painting, with the paper texture. So why not use this technique as a representation style? Steven Holl, an American architect sure knows how to use it. Check it out here.

So? Did we convince you to start practicing another representation style? Which one are you going to start with?
